Our Mission:
Empower.
Harlem Girls Cheer is creating the next generation of female leaders from underserved communities through physical activity, social interaction and gap-closing exposure to needed resources.
Harlem Girls Cheer is creating the next generation of female leaders from underserved communities through physical activity, social interaction and gap-closing exposure to needed resources.
Harlem Girls Cheer is guided by four key principles, which we seek to instill in all program participants.
A fundamental life skill and cornerstone of collegiate and professional endeavors, our program participants learn and experience the importance of working together as a team, being an individual contributor to a team, and being a team player.
Empowered people, empower people. That’s why we seek to empower participants, so they can lead with confidence and feel empowered to make decisions that will lead them to productive lives beyond our program.
We are nurturing our participants into the next generation of leaders. On and off the mat, HGC participants are developing key leadership traits like effective communication, personal accountability, sound decision making, grit and integrity.
Harlem Girls Cheer is a safe space for our participants. We get to know them on all levels, and work to encourage them through all of life’s challenges - whether coming of age growing pains or achieving a new skill on the mat.
Become a Harlem Girls Cheer participant or lend your support to the organization.
Our program accepts new participants every year. Registration is open May-June.
